To celebrate my new blog and the most romantic day of the year, I'm hosting my first giveaway! But more on that in a minute. Valentine's Day is (supposedly) the most romantic day of the year, full of flowers and chocolate and kissing and dinners out and all that. Personally, I have never in my life had a V-Day that included all that. I'd rather spend Feb 14 with great company like my girlfriends as we go out to dinner and to a rom com or handsome imaginary young men like those we read about in our favorite books. So two questions for you guys: 1. What books will you be reading during this oh-so-warm-and-squishy-feeling-inducing holiday? and 2. Which book character would you most like to be your valentine? Is it a shadowhunter? A vampire? An angel? A relatively normal guy or gal from a contemporary novel? As for me, I have a feeling this year I'll be cosying up to Adrian and Eddie! :D
Now on to the good stuff...
CONTEST DETAILS:
This giveaway is open from February 1 - February 14 in the US or Canada only (sorry, international readers. I'll try to do one for you guys soon!). That gives you two weeks to spread the word and earn more entries! AND I'm actually picking FOUR winners.

Great giveaway!! Thank you!!! Good luck to everyone!
ReplyDelete1. I will be reading The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden & The Secret of Ella and Micha along with many others!
2. I would most want Josh Bennette from Sea of Tranquiity or Noah Shaw from Mara Dyer series for my valentine :)
I'll have to read Sea of Tranquility if you say Josh is a good date, and I love Noah! I can't wait for Retribution because Evolution left me speechless.
DeleteDefinitely will be entering this one later when we get home from running errands!
ReplyDeleteUmm.... I'm currently reading Gates of Paradise by Melissa de la Cruz. Depends on how the next two weeks go if I'm still reading it or have moved on. Pre-term labor fun and being 35 weeks make things interesting lately! But up next after I finish the Blue Bloods series is a toss up between re-reading the Artemis Fowl series to get caught up and finish it or re-reading the Sookie Stackhouse series to get caught up on it! Or maybe something else.... haven't decided yet (:
I would love to spend my Valentine's Day with The Little Prince, Artemis Fowl, or Abaddon. All for various crazy reasons. LP because he's adorable and I want to set up a playdate for him and Punky. Artemis because I'd get to spend Valentine's in Ireland and pick the brain of a child criminal mastermind. Abaddon because every girl needs a sensitive bad boy Fallen angel every now and then (:
1. Tell Little Lady to BEHAVE!
Delete2. I'm still waiting for Arctic Incident graphic novel. I love these and can't wait for the rest to be published.
3. I really gotta read some de la Cruz! I hear great things!
I'm currently reading The Nightmare Affair and plan on re-reading Bloodlines and The Golden Lily in preparation for the release of The Indigo Spell!
ReplyDeleteOn to the second question: I would pick a shadowhunter ;D
Indigo Spell is going to tear me up, I just know it! Shadowhunters DO seem to do things better! ;)
Delete1) I'll be reading Hopeless by Colleen Hoover, Dash and Lily's Book of Dares (yep, a Christmas novel) and Eona by Allison Goodman. Only Hopeless being particularly romantic, but I'm still looking forward to the other ones :)
ReplyDelete2)I'd love to be Lily in Dash and Lily's book of Dares right now, I've been enjoying it a lot. Maybe also a shadowhunter in The Infernal Devices? wow, that would be a dream come true...
1. Next on my to-read list are Legend by Marie Lu and Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor. I think Karou and Akiva's relationship is pretty appropriate for Valentine's Day, considering it has crossed time and worlds.
ReplyDelete2. Hmm, I tend to go for the contemporary guys. Right now, my literary crush is Adam Wilde from Gayle Forman's If I Stay and Where She Went.
I'm picking up Legend at the library later today, but DoBaS is AMAZING. There aren't many sequels out there that completely blow away the first book, but this one does. And if you like Adam, you're going to love Willem from Just One Day. I finished it this week and it was superb! I'm now anxiously awaiting his story in Just One Year.
DeleteI'm reading S.E.C.R.E.T. by L. Marie Adeline. I want my valentine to be my husband, of course. But if he can dress as Luca Grinaldi (alien) from The Crimson Hunt by Victoria H. Smith that would be my fantasy.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read either of those, but I'm definitely going to look them up if they're valentine-worthy! A very happy Valentine's Day to you and the hubby!
DeleteI would be reading Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi and The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead when it is released. If i could choose two characters as my valentine it would have to be Percy Jackson and Noah Shaw
ReplyDeleteAll excellent choices! Unravel Me and Indigo Spell both out tomorrow (!!!), Percy Jackson movie coming out soon, and holy crap I can't wait for Retribution to come out because how could Michelle Hodkin DO THAT?!
DeleteNot sure what I'll be reading, but a good candidate is My Life Next Door. My favorite book valentine would be Ash from the Iron Fey series.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway :)
You're welcome! I'm glad you've entered. I think George from MLND would be an awesome Valentine. That boy is darling, and that book was phenomenal. I can't wait to read what she has next. I'm holding out that one day Huntley Fitzpatrick will do a story from his perspective, like when he's a teen. And at least you have an Iron Fey Valentine so you actually can imagine what V-Day with Ice Boy would be like!
Delete1. My next read is Feedback by Robinson Wells and I'm currently a beta reader for a few novels (which I am LOVING)
ReplyDelete2. I'm guilty of loving Jace Wayland/Morgenstern/Herondale/Lightwood and Percy Jackson. Both who have girlfriends capable of killing me and making it look like an accident ^.^
JEALOUS! I'd die if I ever got to be someone's beta. I have a few writer friends so maybe one day...
DeleteBoth excellent choices, although for some reason I still imagine Percy as a boy so it's hard for me to be super into him, even though he's awesome. However, I'd be on Jace and his identity issues like black on shadowhunters! Clary may be able to kill you, but Jace would certainly enjoy the attention! :D
1. YESSS THE INDIGO SPELL :D and perhaps Prodigy if I can get it
ReplyDelete2. Ooooh many choices ;) JACE, Ash, Adrian, Will, but I don't wanna break up the great fictional couples
Vivian M
Finished Prodigy last night, and you're going to LOVE it and HATE it and LOVE it some more! And then hate Marie Lu until #3 comes out. Don't worry about breaking up the fictional characters. I see it as mentally borrowing them for a day! Plus Tessa totally has Jem to keep her company if you want to hang out in an attic with Will.
DeleteWhat book for Valentines? Gonna pass on reading that day. Will definitely be with my sweetheart. But I do have Jordyn by Tiffany King that I should be to by then.
ReplyDeleteAs for the fiction guy I'd want for my Valentine, I'd have to pick Daemon from JLAs Lux series. He's seriously yummy.

Well, you and your sweetie enjoy your day! I've got Lux on my TBR. I keep hearing Daemon is delicious!
DeleteThis is a great giveaway! As to your questions:
ReplyDelete1. I'm planning on reading Uses for Boys by Erica Lorraine Scheidt
2. I can't decide between Cole from Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter and Daemon from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout!
Glad you like it! I can't wait to read Uses for Boys. I've got a copy on hold at my local library. What is it about boys named Cole? They're always yummy!
DeleteThank you for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI've heard only good things about those books.
1. I'm currently reading Beautiful Creatures but i'm planning to read something special for Valentinea day like city of bones.
2. I would probably date Daemon fron the Lux series or Jace from Mortal Instruments.
I know shadowhunter and alien? Weird!!!
You're welcome! Glad you've entered! I just stumbled across a copy of BC at my favorite used bookstore so I snatched it up. It's so popular right now because of the movie that it's impossible to get a copy from my library--and I use two! And I've got to read Lux, since apparently Daemon is just THAT amazing. :)
