Here's why the YA2U Team should come to MY hometown!
Team Dallas here, and the YA2U team should come visit us because everything is bigger and better in the Lonestar state. The entire Dallas area is comprised of a large sprawl of towns including Dallas, Ft. Worth, Mesquite, Plano, Frisco, Richardson, Irving, Arlington, Garland, McKinney, Carollton and more. We've got over 1 million people and professional teams in just about every sport. And our libraries? Yeah, the first one was built in 1901 with a grant from Andrew Carnegie. Over 100 years later, we've got 29 branches, millions of books, dvds, cds, audiobooks and a massive online ebook website. The library is always expanding and building and they've always got the newest books on-order, even before they've been released!
So, these probably just seem like a bunch of useless stats. What do they really mean? They really mean that there are thousands of readers in the Dallas area, an considering all the adolescent lit in our libraries, a good chunk are fans of ya. Dallas has a massive library conference every year with many authors coming in, but it's not open to the public. We regular readers want our chance to meet the authors we love so please vote for Dallas! If you live in the south, take it from someone who just road-tripped it from Tennessee: the travel is not so bad. If we win, you can totally come visit too!
Why should the YA2U Team come to your hometown? Why not join in the fun today and share with others about this program and your hometown. The more votes your town gets, the closer you are to having your very own personal tour stop! Vote for YOUR town here!
And if you help spread the word, you can also participate in the book giveaway. Tell them that you learned about YA2U from me and we both get extra entries in the contest!
