Just One Year. Biggest Flirts. Oh my goodness. Be still my heart. How has your week been, guys?
Completed:
Just One Year (Just One Day #2) - Gayle Forman: 5 stars. I always loved Willem. Review coming.
Biggest Flirts (Superlatives #1) - Jennifer Echols: 5 stars. <3. Short Goodreads review here. Full review will be posted much, much closer to the pub date.
a super top secret project - Secret Author: It's good. Really good. In fact, even at only about 7,000 words, it may be the best yet AND I CAN'T TELL YOU ABOUT IT. The good news is, there isn't a super long wait for you.

Reread:
Clockwork Angel audiobook (Infernal Devices #2) - Cassandra
Clare: 4 stars. Jennifer Ehle did a good job with this. Overall, I was
entertained, but seriously, WTF was up with Gabriel Lightwood's voice?!
He does NOT have a lisp. Jennifuw's vewsion of Gabwiel sounded wike the wady mouse fwom An Amewican Taiw. I
mean, he runs around fussing at Will--well, actually he's fussing at a
fellow named "Wiwwiam Hewondawe"--with this absurd accent. Ugh. But
everybody else is decent. I'm finding audiobooks a good way to reread
books (I'm a bit too busy to actually reread physical copies) since I
already know the story, and I constantly discover lines or details I
previously missed. I don't like to do it for new reads, though.

I'm totally with you on not liking audiobooks for new reads. We did World War Z, but I'm still going to read the physical copy sometime. I just can't stay super focused on a audiobook. Never have been able to do so! Maybe using them for rereads will be nice!
ReplyDeleteI flip the pages too much for me to be comfortable with audio or ebooks for first time reads. I can get by with an ebook, especially with the amount of drcs I get these days. However, I refuse to use audio for thr first time, but it has been great for rereads. I catch things I missed or didn't properly consider the first time around AND I get to quote along with it when I remember the lines! Like when Tessa asks Will what the color of his soul is and he tells her it's mauve.
