Weekly wrap-up: January 26 - February 1

This book was filled with lovely bookish events, which makes me so happy. I haven't attended any since before Thanksgiving, and I missed them! Another slow-ish week as far as reading goes, but it was another week filled with work. I finished up one audiobook and realized I don't have another readily available! Oh noes! If you know of a good audiobook, please share it! Recommendations are most definitely appreciated. I'm also trying to figure out which of the three books I started to concentrate on so feel free to share you opinion on that and let me know what you're reading as well!

Completed:
Evertrue (Everneath #3) - Brodi Ashton: stars. I actually don't have a rating for this one yet! I enjoyed it...but. There's always a but.
"The Little Android (Lunar Chronicles #2.5) - Marissa Meyer: 3 stars. Cute story but not up to the same awesome standard as the nobels or the other novellas.
Be With Me (Wait for You #2) - J. Lynn: stars. This is insane, but I ALSO don't have a rating for this one yet either! I guess you'll have to wait until Tuesday to find out!

Reread:
Days of Blood and Starlight - Laini Taylor & Khristine Hvam: 5 stars. The team for Laini's audiobooks is phenomenal. I'm incredibly impressed with the attention to detail and the reading is superb. I can't wait to get my hands on the Dreams of Gods & Monsters audio!

Currently Reading:
I started three different books this week, and I'm not entirely sure which of the three will win out. If you have an opinion which I should concentrate my efforts on, please share it!
Tiger Lily - Jodi Lynn Anderson
Perfect Lies - Kiersten White
This Song Will Save Your Life - Leila Sales

New to my bookshelf this week:
Library:
Shadow Kiss graphic novel - Richelle Mead

Bought:
So I'm definitely going to slow down on the books that I'm buying for the next little while. There are some amazing new releases I'm excited to get my hands on, but I'm going to severely limit my haul in February, probably to event books only. However, even that is stretching it as I think I'm attending....6 events in Feb featuring 11 authors. Yikes! Anyway, as for this haul, I only have two sources this week, and both are indie bookstores: Book Carriage in Roanoke (north of Fort Worth), TX, and The Book Spot in Round Rock (Austin), TX. I don't know about BC, but Book Spot definitely has a really good stock of signed books, especially Brodi Ashton, Jodi Meadows, and Melissa Marr as all three ladies had signings there this week. Just fyi.

DRCs:
Thank you, Macmillan!
Second Star - Alyssa B. Sheinmel

Thanks, Simon & Schuster
The Sound - Sarah Alderson
Summer of Yesterday - Gaby Triana
Year of Mistaken Identities - Eileen Cook

Thank you, Harper/William Morrow
Be With Me - J. Lynn

THANK YOU, Disney-Hyperion!
Nantucket Red - Leila Howland

ARCs:
Thank you so much, Harlequin Teen!!!
The Break-Up Artist - Philip Siegel
The Secret Diamond Sisters - Michelle Madow

Events Attended:
1/28: Infinite/Evertrue signing with Jodi Meadows & Brodi Ashton. Oh my gosh, this was a riot! If you ever have the opportunity to see these two ladies, DO IT.

  3. Great book haul! I heard great things about Evertrue even though I've never read it. It's on my long list of "to be read" books though. I'm also going to be reading The Little Android soon since Cress is coming out in a couple of days!!
I also need to reread Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Days of Blood and Starlight. It's great that the audiobook is good because listening to the audiobooks is how I usually reread books as well. Can't wait for Dreams of Gods and Monsters to come out!
