Listmania Monday: Beach Reads

It's Labor Day, which is our last "real" American holiday for a while so I thought I'd post a vacation-y type list today. No, this isn't the list of books it's good to read while at the beach. That would be just about every book ever. Instead, this is the list of books set at the beach. So when it's winter and you're wanting to get away somewhere warm, come to this list and pick out a good one. Or when it's spring and you're looking forward to vacation and getting away from work or school. Or when it's summer and you're still looking forward to your vacation or maybe you just took your vacation, but you need another. Or when it's fall and you're back to school or back to work or whatever and you need to remember summer. You know what? Basically, it's good to read beach books year-round.

As always, please leave comments with your favorite book at the beach or any that I've left out!

Baby-Sitters Club - Ann M. Martin (not all take place at the beach, but a few do)
Beauty Queens - Libba Bray
Belles - Jen Calonita
The Boxcar Children - Gertrude Chandler Warner (see BSC above). My fave beach read in this series is Blue Bay Mystery (#6).
Catching Fire - Suzanne Collins
Colby books - Sarah Dessen
Fathomless (Fairytale Retellings #3) - Jackson Pearce
Forget You - Jennifer Echols
Forgive My Fins series - Tera Lynn Childs
He's So/She's So series (particulary #2 & #3) - Kieran Scott
Invincible Summer - Hannah Moskowitz
Laguna Cove - Alyson Noel
The Last Song - Nicholas Sparks
Oh. My. Gods. series - Tera Lynn Childs
Sea of Love - Jamie Ponti
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series - Anne Brashares (from the US to Mexico to Greece!)
Sixteenth Summer - Michelle Dalton
The Summer I Turned Pretty (Belly) trilogy - Jenny Han
Starcrossed series - Josephine Angelini
Twenty Boy Summer - Sarah Ockler

    1. Me too! I'm sure I missed some, but I always add to my lists, even months after I write them.

  3. My favorite beach read is probably On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves; in fact, I just re-read it earlier this week. Nice list--I need to read Twenty Boy Summer! I always thought that one looked good and I've had good luck with that author. :)
