Listmania Monday: Hollywood

You may not know this about me, but one of my greatest guilty pleasures is the keeping up with the lives of celebrities. My family calls me the walking-talking-IMDB for being able to recognize an actor in any of their films and rattle all their notable film credits as well as play the Kevin Bacon game to great end, but I can also rattle off a lot of actors' social lives as well. In particular, I can six-degrees-of-separation the crap out of the Twilight actors to the point that it comes back to Twilight several times. I used to play this game by myself at night to help me sleep. I find the (as Good Charlotte says) lifestyles of the rich and famous fascinating. The dynamics are so intriguing, and honestly, they're all fabulously dressed. Most of the time. I like a good Worst Dressed list as much as the next person too.

Point is, I love it when my favorite passion, books, combines with my favorite guilty pleasure to create fictional drama. Well, sort of fiction. L.A. Candy is scary like The Hills, but that seems to have been faked more elaborately than a WWE match. So maybe LAC is art imitating art imitating life? Oy. My head hurts thinking about that one! Let's just move on to the list, shall we? Please note that some of these aren't necessarily Hollywood, exactly, but they do all have to do with the entertainment lifestyle. For instance, This is What Happy Looks Like is about an A-list actor, but the book doesn't take place in LA.

As always, share any titles I may have left off the list or tell me what your favorite Hollywood-inspired novel is! I love me some comments!

The A-List series - Zoey Dean
Airhead trilogy - Meg Cabot
Dancing Queen - Erin Downing
Epic Fail - Claire LaZebnik
Exclusively Chloe - J.A. Yang
The Fame Game trilogy (L.A. Candy spinoff) - Lauren Conrad
Jenna & Jonah's Fauxmance - Emily Franklin & Brendan Halpin
L.A. Candy trilogy - Lauren Conrad
Love, Hollywood Style - P.J. Ruditis
Secrets of My Hollywood Life series - Jen Calonita
Teen Idol - Meg Cabot
This is What Happy Looks Like - Jennifer E. Smith

  1. You always come up with interesting lists. (: I'm not so big on the Hollywood scene as far as their lives go, BUT I am a huge fan of knowing all the movies they're in!

    1. Thanks. List topics can be tricky, and the research is sooo time-consuming. This one's a bit on the small side for my liking, but I only feel comfortable putting in books that I have either read, or I know for a fact match the topic.

  2. I only follow celebrities for the fashion! I love seeing all the gowns at awards shows. I haven't read any of the books on your list, although I have been tempted to read the Lauren Conrad series!

    1. I absolutely adore fashion. I'm a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl myself, but I love high fashion. Shows like Project Runway, America's Next Top Model, etc. are my kryptonite!
